Knowledge and skills are not necessary, fun and an enthusiastic attitude are! We are always looking for new ideas and improvements to our layout!

What makes us different from other HO clubs on LI?

WE ARE NOT DCC! (and have no future plans to do so) We operate via conventional DC power, just like the old days. You can run your old Athearn/AHM/Bachmann/Tyco/etc. You do not have to go out and spend a ton of money on DCC equipped locomotives, a DCC controller, or a decoder, a major requirement to join some of those other RR clubs. You also have 24/7 access to the club when you become a member. You do not need to be an executive board member or pay a few hundred dollars to receive a key like some of those other RR clubs. You may also operate any era/type of equipment on any run night. No restrictions to "Era Nights" like those at other RR clubs.

The layout is CTC Dispatched, operating up to 5 mainline cabs, over a single track line with passing sidings. We also operate 2 switching industrial areas, a large classification yard, complete with steam and diesel facilities (turntable and a transfer table), a smaller classification yard, 2 staging yards, and a trolley line. Currently we are operating trains for all to enjoy and of course to have fun!! But we are also in the process of starting scheduled operations on select meeting nights that will cater to both novice and expert modelers as well.
